Admissions

Start Treatment at The Archangel Centers

Reaching out can feel overwhelming. Our admissions process is simple, supportive, and stress-free, so nothing feels rushed or unclear.

The Archangel Centers makes it easy to begin outpatient addiction and mental health treatment in New Jersey and North Carolina. One phone call connects you with a real person who listens, answers your questions, and walks you through every step.

Every conversation is confidential, and verifying your insurance is always free.

How admissions works

Getting started takes four straightforward steps. We move at a pace that feels right for you and explain everything along the way.

  • Call us. Speak with a compassionate admissions specialist 24/7. We listen to your situation and guide your next steps.
  • Free insurance verification. We confirm your benefits and explain exactly what is covered before you commit, with no surprises.
  • Clinical assessment. A licensed clinician reviews your history and needs to build a personalized treatment plan.
  • Same-week placement. In most cases we can arrange placement the same week so you can begin without long delays.

If detox or inpatient is needed first

The Archangel Centers is an outpatient provider. We deliver partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient (OP) programs on-site.

We do not provide medical detox or inpatient rehab. When someone needs that level of care first for safety, our Detox Concierge coordinates placement with trusted partners and helps you transition back into our outpatient programs once you are stabilized. You get one team guiding the whole journey.

Choose your location

We serve Tinton Falls, New Jersey and the greater Charlotte, North Carolina region. Our Charlotte location is opening soon, and our admissions team can take your information and connect you with care now.

The first call: what to expect

The first call is free, confidential, and answered around the clock, including nights and weekends. You can call for yourself or on behalf of a loved one, and you are never obligated to commit to anything.

Our specialist listens first, then asks a few simple questions so we can point you in the right direction. There are no wrong answers, and you can share as much or as little as you feel ready to.

  • What is going on and what kind of support you are looking for right now.
  • Whether you are calling for yourself or for a family member or friend.
  • Basic details such as your location and the best way to reach you.
  • Your insurance carrier, if you have coverage, so we can check your benefits for free.
  • Any immediate safety concerns, so we can make sure you get the right level of care first.

Insurance verification and payment

Cost should never be the reason someone delays getting help. Verifying your benefits is always free, takes only a few minutes, and comes with no obligation to enroll.

Most PPO and HMO plans cover outpatient addiction and mental health treatment under the federal mental health parity law, which requires insurers to treat behavioral health benefits comparably to medical and surgical benefits. We also work with New Jersey FamilyCare in New Jersey and with North Carolina Medicaid, which expanded coverage to more adults in December 2023.

If you are uninsured or underinsured, we will still help. Our team can review sliding scale options and point you toward state-funded and community resources so you can find a path forward. We explain any potential costs clearly before you commit, so there are no surprises.

  • Free, fast benefits check, usually completed in minutes.
  • Most PPO and HMO plans covered under federal mental health parity.
  • New Jersey FamilyCare accepted in New Jersey.
  • North Carolina Medicaid accepted following the December 2023 expansion.
  • Sliding scale and state-funded options reviewed if you are uninsured or underinsured.

Your clinical assessment and level of care

Before treatment begins, a licensed clinician completes a thorough assessment. This is a supportive conversation, not a test, and it helps us understand your history, your goals, and the kind of support that will serve you best.

Based on that assessment, we recommend the outpatient level of care that fits your needs. Partial hospitalization (PHP) offers the most structured daytime support, intensive outpatient (IOP) provides several treatment sessions each week while you keep up with work or family, and standard outpatient (OP) offers ongoing care with greater flexibility. As you progress, your plan can step down to a lighter level so support matches where you are in recovery.

  • Partial hospitalization (PHP): the most structured outpatient option, with daytime programming.
  • Intensive outpatient (IOP): multiple sessions per week that fit around work and family life.
  • Standard outpatient (OP): flexible, ongoing care for continued recovery and maintenance.

What to expect on your first day

Your first day is about getting comfortable and feeling welcomed, not jumping straight into the deep end. A staff member greets you, helps with any remaining paperwork, and gives you a tour so you know where everything is.

You will meet members of your care team, review your personalized treatment plan, and learn the daily and weekly schedule. We answer every question so you leave the first day knowing exactly what comes next.

How to prepare and what to bring

There is very little you need to do ahead of time, and our admissions team handles the details with you. A short checklist can help the first day go smoothly.

  • A photo ID and your insurance card, if you have one.
  • A list of any current medications and the prescribing provider.
  • Contact information for anyone you want involved in your care.
  • Comfortable clothing and any small items that help you feel at ease.
  • Questions you want to ask your care team, written down so nothing slips your mind.

When a higher level of care is needed first

The Archangel Centers provides outpatient care only. Some people need medical detox or inpatient stabilization before outpatient treatment is safe and effective, and that is completely normal.

When that is the case, we do not leave you to navigate it alone. Our Detox Concierge coordinates placement with accredited detox and inpatient partners, stays in contact during your stay, and helps you step down into our partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, or standard outpatient programs once you are stabilized. One team guides the entire journey from the first call through long-term recovery.

Support for families during admissions

Addiction and mental health challenges affect the whole family, and we want loved ones to feel supported from the very first call. Family members are welcome to reach out on behalf of someone they care about and to ask questions about the process.

With proper consent, we keep families informed, explain how treatment works, and offer guidance on how to support recovery at home. You do not have to have all the answers before you call. That is what our team is here for.

Common questions

How quickly can I be admitted?

Our admissions line is answered 24/7 and we can often arrange same-week placement. The fastest way to get started is to call (888) 464-2144.

Will you verify my insurance for me?

Yes. We verify your coverage and explain your options before you commit, so you understand any costs up front. There is no charge to check.

What if I need detox before outpatient treatment?

We do not provide detox or inpatient care, but our Detox Concierge coordinates placement with trusted partners and helps you move into our outpatient programs once you are ready.

Is the first conversation confidential?

Always. Every conversation with our admissions team is private, whether you are reaching out for yourself or a loved one, and there is no obligation.

What will you ask me on the first call?

We keep it simple. We ask what is going on and what kind of support you are looking for, whether you are calling for yourself or someone else, your location, the best way to reach you, and your insurance carrier if you have one. There are no wrong answers, and you can share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Do you accept Medicaid in New Jersey and North Carolina?

Yes. We accept New Jersey FamilyCare in New Jersey and North Carolina Medicaid, which expanded to cover more adults in December 2023. We will verify your specific plan for free before treatment begins.

What if I do not have insurance?

We still want to help. If you are uninsured or underinsured, our team can review sliding scale options and connect you with state-funded and community resources so cost does not stand between you and care.

How do you decide which level of outpatient care is right for me?

A licensed clinician completes an assessment of your history, needs, and goals, then recommends partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, or standard outpatient based on what will support you best. Your plan can step down to a lighter level as you progress in recovery.

What should I bring on my first day?

Bring a photo ID and your insurance card if you have one, a list of any current medications, contact information for anyone you want involved in your care, comfortable clothing, and any questions you want to ask your care team. Our admissions team helps you with anything else.

Can my family be involved in the admissions process?

Yes. Family members are welcome to call on behalf of a loved one and to ask questions about how treatment works. With proper consent, we keep families informed and offer guidance on how to support recovery at home.

Do I have to be sober to start?

No. You do not need to be sober or have any clean time before you reach out. Many people call while they are still using. If a medical detox is needed first, our Detox Concierge coordinates that with a trusted partner, then we continue the work in our outpatient programs. The point is to start where you are.

Can I tour the facility before I commit?

Yes. You are welcome to visit and see the space before deciding. Tours are available Monday through Friday at our Tinton Falls, New Jersey center. Call our admissions team to set up a time that works for you.
