About The Archangel Centers
The Archangel Centers is more than a treatment program. We are a recovery community built on lived experience, dedicated to helping individuals and families reclaim their lives.
The Archangel Centers was founded by Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Lauren Sorrentino, whose own journeys through addiction and recovery shaped everything we do. We know firsthand that recovery is possible, and that everyone deserves the chance to heal.
We provide outpatient addiction and mental health care grounded in evidence-based clinical practice, now serving New Jersey and North Carolina.

Learn moreA mission built on lived experience
Mike and Lauren Sorrentino did not build The Archangel Centers from a textbook. They built it from real recovery. That perspective drives a culture where clients feel understood, respected, and never judged.
Just as archangels are seen as protectors and guides, our team strives to be a steady source of support and compassion at every stage of the journey. The comeback is greater than the setback.
Evidence-based outpatient care
We deliver partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient (OP) programs on-site, built around proven clinical methods rather than a one-size-fits-all template.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to reshape the thoughts and patterns that drive addiction.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships.
- Dual diagnosis care that treats addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions together.
- Individual, group, and family-involved therapy that supports the whole person.
Outpatient by design, fully coordinated
The Archangel Centers is an outpatient provider. We do not provide medical detox or inpatient rehab. When someone needs that level of care first, we coordinate placement with trusted partners and help them transition into our outpatient programs when they are ready, so one team guides the whole journey.
Now serving two states
We are growing to meet people where they are. Our Tinton Falls, New Jersey location serves Monmouth County and the surrounding region, and our Charlotte, North Carolina location is opening soon to serve Mecklenburg County and the greater Charlotte area.
Our founding story
The Archangel Centers began with a simple conviction held by two people who had been through it themselves. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Lauren Sorrentino lived the chaos of addiction, did the hard work of recovery, and decided to turn that lived experience into something durable for other families. Rather than stop at telling their own story, they built a licensed clinical practice around it.
Our mission flows directly from that decision. We exist to make honest, structured, outpatient recovery available to people in their own communities, so they can heal without putting the rest of their lives on hold. The founders set the culture and the standard. Licensed clinical professionals deliver the care.
Our philosophy
We believe recovery is built on honesty, accountability, and structure. We do not soften the truth about addiction, and we do not let people drift. We hold a clear, consistent framework that gives clients something solid to stand on while they rebuild.
We also treat the whole person, not just the substance use. Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside addiction by our clinical team, because untreated anxiety, depression, trauma, and other conditions are often what pull people back. Addressing both together gives recovery a real foundation.
The outpatient continuum, close to home
Our programs move with you through the levels of outpatient care. Partial hospitalization (PHP) offers the most structured outpatient support for those who need significant hours of programming. Intensive outpatient (IOP) steps that down while keeping clients closely connected. Standard outpatient (OP) supports long-term stability as life and responsibilities expand again.
Keeping this continuum close to home matters. When people can recover in New Jersey or North Carolina near their families, work, and support systems, the lessons of treatment get practiced in the real world instead of in isolation. Outpatient care that fits into a real life is care people can actually sustain.
What makes The Archangel Centers different
Two things set us apart. The first is a founder-led culture paired with a licensed clinical team. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Lauren Sorrentino bring lived experience and set the tone, while licensed clinical professionals provide the therapy, assessments, and medication management. You get both the empathy of people who have been there and the rigor of credentialed clinical care.
The second is that the door is open and the message is honest. We meet people without judgment, and we tell them the truth about what recovery takes. No false promises, no pretending the work is easy, just steady support and a clear path forward.
Who we serve
We serve adults seeking help for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions, along with the families who walk that road with them. Many of our clients are stepping down from a higher level of care and need structured outpatient support to stay on track. Others are reaching out for the first time and want help that fits around work, school, and family.
Wherever someone is starting from, our team and our founders share the same belief. The comeback is greater than the setback, and no one should have to face recovery alone.
